As one of Georgia’s top-ranked small hospitals, Adventist Health System’s Gordon Hospital quickly outgrew their existing facility that was built just years before. Hospital ocials understood that the built environment has the capacity to inuence a patient’s mind, body and spirit and knew they needed more space to better serve the Calhoun community. Gresham Smith designed a three-story expansion to the hospital’s emergency department and intensive care unit, as well as renovations to the hospital’s lobby and waiting spaces, providing the latest in patient-centered care while creating an ecient base for future growth and expansion.
