GLENSTONE MUSEUM— THE PAVILIONS
INNOVATIVE DESIGN BLENDS FUNCTIONALITY AND AESTHETICS The Glenstone Museum, a private museum of contemporary art in Potomac, Maryland, expanded in 2018 from a small gallery to a vast campus. The expansion includes eleven separate rooms, or pavilions, that sit along a hilly ridge surrounding an 18,000 square foot pool. The pavilions are made of stacked blocks of precast concrete—individually poured to measure 6 feet long, 1 foot high, and 1 foot deep—that are connected by glass-enclosed walkways made of 30-foot clear glass panels framed in stainless steel.
