Overview Part of Fraunhofer, one of Europe’s largest application-oriented research organizations, the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System T echnology (Fraunhofer IWES) is a renowned research centre in Germany with divisions in Bremerhaven and Kassel. Fraunhofer IWES focuses on the integration of renewable energies into energy supply struc- tures. Its sister organization, the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (Fraunhofer IEE), carries out research on energy management and energy systems regarding the challenges of transitioning to wind energy.
