The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) transitioned to a VMware Horizon View virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to improve user support. However, the challenge was maintaining high performance, especially concerning Windows write inefficiencies that could waste IOPS. By deploying V-locity I/O reduction software, MFA achieved a 40% reduction in I/O traffic, significantly enhancing VDI performance without additional hardware. The success extended to other critical applications like MS-SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint, with similar performance improvements.
