Epping to Chatswood Rail Line Country Australia Client Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation Contract type Design & Construction Length 12.5 kilometers Between 2002 and 2008, HOCHTIEF and CIMIC subsidiary Thiess worked in a joint venture to build two tunnels each 13 kilometers long as well as four railway stations north of Sydney. The contract was part of the Parramatta Rail Link, at the time the largest publiclyfunded infrastructure project in Australia. In addition to the tunnel work, the joint venture was also responsible for designing, building, and commissioning the track, signal, and communications systems.
