Objective The operator was already utilizing SET® systems in a well slimming program that reduced upper hole sizes thereby improving ROP and significantly reducing overall costs. To further save time, the need for underreaming and cementing the expandable system was eliminated by incorporating a specialized expandable swellable shoe. Results A 6 x 7-5/8 in. SET® system with 5-7/8 in. drillout was run below the 29.7# 7-5/8 in. base casing
