When Antionette C. Dendtler, Ed. D., founded the Environment Community Opportunity (ECO) Charter school in 2005, she knew that she wanted to focus on the things that kept her engaged in school growing up. “I did my best when learning was presented as an opportunity to solve a problem, not an exercise in memorizing facts,” she said.
