CASE STUDY Earthworks Slippage Monitoring CLIENT: NETWORK RAIL/COSTAIN THE CHALLENGE Costain approached Senceive to monitor a railway embankment using their FlatMesh high precision dual axis tilt sensors. The response and install required was immediate and the monitoring was long-term. A 40m section of embankment, prone to slippage was to have vegetation removed, re-graded, and kentledge-ballast sacks piled in front of structure-added at the base of the slope to 'restrain' the newly profiled embankment emergency repair works.
