Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust (formerly known as the National Canine Defence League) is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. The scale of the charities operation is considerable, with 18 Rehoming Centres across the UK and one centre in Ireland, which care for around 16,000 dogs every year, as well as a growing overseas presence.
