Developing a technology roadmap for a leading provider of subsea equipment and services Challenge The client wanted to assess technological suitability and appropriateness in the highly technical subsea equipment and services sector. Approach We adopted a logical and pragmatic approach to shore up the effectiveness of project delivery. This constituted: initial clarification of the business strategy, identification of candidate technologies, characterization and prioritization of geographical markets, and the development of a technology roadmap. Value Using Arthur D. Little’s “Third-Generation R&D Framework” we combined customer-impact ratings, level of technology mastery and competitive impact to prioritize key technologies for the roadmap.
