Cupiagua Field Uses Precision Cooling for Energy Savings and Improved Availability

Pages 2 Pages

The Cupiagua gas field in Colombia faced overheating, outages, and high costs from outdated comfort cooling systems unable to handle the site’s heat density—6–10 times greater than offices. To solve this, 32 Vertiv Liebert PEX precision cooling units, a Liebert Mini-Mate2 system, sensors, and iCOM controls were deployed with full engineering support. The precision systems adapt to load changes, control humidity within ±1°C and ±1%, and reduce wear through intelligent sequencing. Results included a 12% drop in electricity use, lower maintenance needs, improved uptime, and optimized environmental monitoring across critical facilities.
