Crude Oil Spill to Pozanti River Location: Adana, Pozanti, Turkey NRC Scope NRC’s local oil spill response team were actioned after an excavator punctured a pipeline under ground and crude oil was spilled on Çakit River. Technical Challenge A dam was constructed and many fast flow booms were deployed in order to contain the oil before reaching to Seyhan Lake. Restrictions / Considerations It was important to stop the spill before reaching to Seyhan Lake. Fifty local NRC personnel were mobilised to the spill site as well as response equipment such asvehicles, sorbents, PPE, booms, pumps, skimmers and easy tanks.
