Concrete Cylinder Pipe Condition Assessment: Miami Client: Miami Dade Water and Sewer Department Location: Miami, FL Following the rupture of a 54” water main, Hazen and Sawyer supported Miami Dade Water and Sewer with visual and electromagnetic inspection of the aected main, along with planning for the prioritization and assessment of prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) throughout the county.The break and subsequent ood created a sinkhole 10 feet deep by 40 feet wide in a major intersection and ooded adjacent houses with a foot of water.The water main was part of a 48-inch loop around the northern portion of the County.
