Overview The secondary containment bund was suffering from wear and tear damage and required a new seamless lining which would prevent solvent egress in the event of a leak or spillage. Challenge The client required a smooth, seamless finish. Grit blasting could not be utilised. There could also be no disruption to the surrounding areas due to other ongoing work. Solution The concrete and corroded steel were mechanically prepared. A specialised concrete repair system was utilised to fill blow holes and porosity within the concrete. One coat of solvent-free, wet tolerant concrete primer Damp-creteTM RH 800 was then applied. This was followed by two coats of solvent-free, glassflake epoxy Novolac Epo-chemTM RW 500.
