CASE STUDY Cold Cut Case Study THE BRIEF To remove and dispose of a storage tank and its contents from a former processing factory in South Devon. THE SOLUTION We used our cold cutting system to safely cut a ‘saddle’ out of the tank to allow access for machinery to dig out the crystallized sodium. The chemical was then loaded into 205L drums for disposal. A chute was constructed which minimalised contact with the product and therefore removed further risks to the decommissioning team. Finally the tank was removed. THE OUTCOME All materials disposed of safely and efficientlyand a clean tidy site ready for a new use.
