Chadwick’s of Boston was in the process of expanding its operations by constructing a new distribution facility in Taunton, Massachusetts. This new facility would house all related packaging and shipping functions for their direct mail order operations. A key element of the new distribution center’s specifications was the deployment of a high-speed tilt-tray Packing Sorter. The Packing Sorter design was configured to accommodate a seamless "one-pass" picking wave on one shift, while allowing multi- wave packing on a separate shift.
