Markforged helped the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria's Integrated and Advanced Manufacturing Research Group advance copper EDM electrode manufacturing by providing their Metal X 3D printer with metal FFF technology and pure copper material. This allowed the production of complex, high-quality copper parts with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity more efficiently and cost-effectively than traditional machining. Markforged’s Metal X enabled faster prototyping and reduced lead times, supporting innovative research and development in the automotive and metalworking sectors.
