The Boat Station is Northumbria’s regional Sea Cadet and RYA Training Centre and is used for district and area training, as well as by organisations outside the Sea Cadets. The facility underwent a £250,000 refurbishment during the winter, which saw upgrades to the classrooms, changing areas, showers and washrooms. As part of the refurbishment, a Calorex DH 60AP dehumidifier was installed in the drying room, to efficiently dry the valuable equipment and keep it in tip-top condition. Alfie Simpson MBE, Principal and Chairman of the Boat Station explains: “As a Sea Cadet, youngsters learn to sail and do adventure training, all on a naval theme.
