The solution process entailed an approach that considered books as “parts”. Computer programming to control inventory has been used in industrial and commercial environments for over twenty-five years . . . so why not with books? The expansion increased the total square footage of this University Library to 221,273 square feet, housing 1,470,000 volumes plus an additional 25% capacity of other library materials.
