BISHOP CHILDS CHURCH IN WALES THE BRIEF Bishop Childs Church in Wales Primary is a Voluntary Aided Christian school which was opened in April 1988, serving the community of St Mellons, Cardiff. It is a mixed school with 210 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11. Bishop Childs lighting was almost 30 years old and had not been upgraded since opening. Degrading light quality and rising energy and maintenance costs inspired Bishop Childs to look at a wholescale lighting upgrade to improve the light quality, and deliver energy, environmental and financial savings. The school also had the added complication of the ceiling containing asbestos materials and required their emergency lighting to be upgraded to current regulations.
