Assessing Unmet Needs in Treating Severe Asthma in Poland

Pages 1 Pages

An RWD study assessed unmet needs in severe asthma patients across Poland, applying AI/ML modeling, prescription data, and lab results to segment patients by severity and treatment gaps. Patients were evaluated for three major unmet needs: high oral corticosteroid (OCS) exposure (>500mg/year), frequent exacerbations (≥2 annually), and high short-acting beta-agonist (SABA) use (>3 packs/year). Results highlighted regional disparities, with some voivodeships showing higher OCS use, exacerbations, and SABA dependence. The analysis provided a clear view of disease burden and unmet needs, enabling the client to better target physicians, optimize communication, and improve outcomes for severe asthma patients.
