Pages 3 Pages

Argentina is set to host Latin America's most powerful supercomputer for academic research, delivering 15.7 petaFLOPS of performance. Funded by a joint program between the country’s Ministries of Science and Defense, the system—built by Lenovo—will be housed at the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) data center. Powered by 5,120 Intel® Xeon® CPU Max Series cores with HBM and 37,888 Intel® Data Center GPU Max Series cores, the system will support scientific computing across the region. It is 40x more powerful than its predecessor, Huayra Muyu, and will enhance weather modeling and support research in physics, AI, and life sciences.
