ArcelorMittal, in partnership with Capgemini Engineering and financial support from ADEME, aimed to reduce waste heat across its manufacturing processes as part of its environmental strategy to reach net-zero. They developed physical and techno-economic models to identify waste heat sources and evaluate recovery solutions. The project provided a clear view of energy losses, offered decision-making guidance through data analysis, and assessed potential recovery methods. The models enabled ArcelorMittal to calculate investment costs, savings, and CO2 reduction, optimizing waste heat recovery solutions based on use case priorities.
