Clifford Devlin Ltd won a competitive tender to carry out demolition and structural alterations to enable this 6-storey building in the heart of Central London to be renovated and remodelled to accommodate two new floors and an extension to its rear. Following strip-out and minor asbestos removal works, extensive temporary works were installed to maintain the building's structural integrity prior to the top down demolition to form openings in the suspended floor slabs for the formation of a new core. Diamond drilling and sawing techniques were used to form the openings in the floors which were demolished using remote controlled equipment.
