Annecy Bio-Chaleur The city of Annecy in the French Alps is banking on renewables. By converting its district heat production from fossil fuels to wood, the city is reducing its annual CO 2 emissions by 12 000 tonnes. The biomass heating plant was opened in 2015 and provides 2500 homes in the Novel-Teppes district with heat and domestic hot water.
