Blackbourne were appointed by Mulalley Company Ltd to carry out Mechanical and Electrical works for the new three storey building for the Faculty of Health, Social Care (IFHSC Faculty) and Education at Anglia Ruskin University. The new building in- cludes facilities for training nurses, teaching rooms and administration. The 2,336m2 building was designed with energy efficiency in mind and is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of Very Good. This will be achieved through a number of renewable and sustainable technologies. One of these technologies was the solar PV system which was fixed to the roof of the building. The anticipated energy generation to come from this system was 26,00 kWh per annum which helped the University reduce running costs and provided them
