All terrain meets crawlers by Terex Cranes July 26, 2018 ZWEIBRÜCKEN – July 26, 2018 – The Minnesota Highway 24 Bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Clearwater may not seem special at the surface. It serves a mere average daily vehicle count of just over 16,000 and dissects two towns that barely share a population of more than 2,000 people. On the weekends, however, the 1,235-ft (376.4-m) long structure sees significantly higher traffic. It is a vital conduit between U.S. Highway 10 and Interstate 94, which parallel opposite sides of the Mississippi River and connect St. Cloud to Minneapolis. Unfortunately, this 1950s-era, 30-ft (9.1-m) wide bridge, like so many of that time, was functionally obsolete and had a restricted maximum load of 80,000 lb (36.3 tonnes). The price tag to demoli
