The National Institute for Aviation Research evaluated Altair Radioss to address the growing computational demands of high-fidelity crash simulations used in aircraft certification research. Traditional approaches limited scalability or required reduced model fidelity. Radioss demonstrated exceptional performance through hybrid parallel processing and multi-domain simulation. In benchmark studies, simulations ran in less than half the time of competing solvers while maintaining accuracy and repeatability. The results confirmed Radioss’ ability to support large-scale design exploration, accelerate aerospace development cycles, and make more efficient use of HPC resources for safety-critical aviation research.
