Abattoir Effluent, C&K Meats Background C&K Group, which owns J H Lamberts and C&K Meats, is an independent, family- owned wholesale and catering butchers based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The company had developed a new state of the art multi-species slaughterhouse facility at Eye, allowing for 221,000 beasts comprising pigs, cattle and sheep to be processed on an annual basis. The high-tech plant incorporated carbon reducing features such as rainwater harvesting and refrigeration heat recovery, and also required a small footprint effluent treatment solution for ensuring compliance with the discharge consent to sewer.
