88-188 Decorative Paint Facility Wastewater Pre-Treatment Boeing constructed a new two bay Decorative Paint Facility on their South Carolina Plant Site. The facility was designed to accommodate 777-9X and 747-8 aircraft, and can be adapted to paint any 7X7 aircraft derivative. Harris Group designed a wastewater pre-treatment system to handle a flow rate of 430,000 gallons per month. The WWPT system is designed to remove all controlled substances in the wastewater to less than or equal to 50% of permitted limits. The WWPT system is operated in batch mode and is designed to be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Wastewater is pumped from either of two paint hangar bays to one of three agitated wastewater treatment tanks. The tanks are 30 feet high by 14 feet in diameter, and have a
