1 Teaming Up For Quality Improvement WHITEPAPER2 INTRODUCTION The debate over how to define, measure and achieve quality and value stretches across all specialties and even to governmental and regulatory bodies. While definitions and rules seem to change with startling rapidity, one thing remains certain—practices need to have a quality improvement strategy in place in order to thrive. There is a common misconception among smaller practices that quality is only “for the big guys. ” However, creating a quality improvement team, no matter how small the practice, can provide the ability to remain viable in today’s changing healthcare landscape.
