This white paper presents Advantech’s 5G uCPE solution optimized with DPDK and XDP to enhance packet transmission efficiency for edge computing. Using the FWA-1212VC platform with Intel Atom processors and Fibocom’s FM150-AE 5G module, the solution supports SD-WAN, SASE, IoT monitoring, and secure financial applications. It leverages AF\_XDP and DPDK to bypass the Linux kernel stack, enabling near-zero-copy data handling, low latency, and high throughput. The result is a validated, energy-efficient platform that maximizes 5G performance at the network edge for service providers and enterprise applications.
