Modernizing HPC Infrastructure and Administration with VAST Data
VAST modernizes HPC infrastructure and administration through its Disaggregated Shared-Everything (DASE) architecture, which supports both large-scale HPC checkpoints and AI workloads on a unified platform. It simplifies HPC storage by eliminating complex tuning and data movement bottlenecks found in traditional parallel file systems like Lustre and GPFS. VAST natively supports NVMe-over-Fabrics (NVMe-oF) with RDMA over both Ethernet and InfiniBand without needing protocol gateways, ensuring low-latency, high-throughput data access. Its fault-isolation design enhances reliability by isolating failing nodes without impacting performance. The platform reduces administrative complexity with streamlined management and scalable, parallel data access.
