This Futurum Group study, commissioned by SAS, evaluates how data and AI platforms impact productivity across the full AI lifecycle: managing data, developing models, and deploying insights. Testing a churn prediction use case across SAS Viya, a commercial competitor, and open-source tools showed SAS Viya delivered 4.6x higher productivity, reducing complexity and time at every stage. Its built-in automation, visualization, and low/no-code capabilities enabled collaboration between technical and non-technical users, with 86% of tasks achievable by business analysts. Viya’s integration of generative AI and flexibility across SAS, Python, and R further supports innovation. The platform accelerates decision-making, lowers costs, and maximizes the value of data-driven initiatives.
