Ensuring Storage Reliability At Scale

VAST Data’s approach to ensuring storage reliability at scale is fundamentally enabled by its patented Disaggregated Shared-Everything (DASE) architecture. Unlike traditional shared-nothing designs—which often suffer from increased risk of data loss and degraded performance as the system scales—VAST’s DASE architecture decouples compute from storage and allows every CPU to access all data and metadata directly over a high-speed, low-latency storage fabric (such as NVMe-over-Fabrics with RDMA). This creates a globally shared namespace and eliminates bottlenecks and cross-node dependencies that are common failure points in legacy systems.
