Key issues include managing siloed data environments, with 47% of respondents dedicating 25-50% of their time to this, and 23% spending up to 75% of their time finding the right data. Only 14% have a mature, automated ESG data management process, indicating a significant area for improvement. IT resources and security gaps are major concerns, alongside the need for efficient data validation, which consumes considerable time for many CDOs. The financial services industry is undergoing digital transformation, with investments in AI, cloud data lakes, and open APIs to improve customer engagement and risk management.
