The SIM, including eUICC and iUICC, plays a key role by storing User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) files that direct app traffic to the right slice. Introduced in 3GPP Release 16, this requires SIM OS support for BER-TLV memory formatting, ensuring precise routing, policy control, and charging for each network slice.
