Critical infrastructure and industrial organizations are increasingly adopting IoT and cloud technologies, but each connected device introduces new opportunities for attackers, especially as advanced threats escalate. While data diodes already secure many industrial protocols, transferring MQTT-based IoT data to the cloud poses added challenges because it typically requires bidirectional communication. To maintain strong security, organizations need a method to enable secure, one-way MQTT data transfers that protect operational networks while still supporting cloud analytics, monitoring, and efficiency gains without exposing internal systems to external threats.
