Pages 22 Pages

In 2021, 66% of healthcare organizations were hit by ransomware—almost double the 2020 rate. Healthcare saw the highest increase in attack volume and complexity, with 94% reporting operational disruption and 90% reporting revenue loss. Cyber insurance payouts were common but harder to secure, prompting 97% of covered organizations to improve defenses. Despite improvements in recovery, healthcare recovered less data after ransom payments than in prior years.
