Pages 13 Pages

Ransomware attacks are evolving, and organizations are facing difficult choices in prevention, response, and policy. The *State of Ransomware Survey Report* from Delinea reveals that while reported ransomware attacks dropped from 64% to 25% year over year, the average payment has soared nearly 71% to almost $1M. Companies are increasingly saying no to ransom payments (68% paid in 2022 vs. 82% in 2021) even as business impacts like revenue loss and layoffs persist. Alarmingly, fewer firms have incident response plans or are allocating budget for ransomware protection. Support for making ransom payments illegal also fell sharply from 88% to 63%.
