This report highlights major cybersecurity events in November 2024 across the APAC region. Group‑IB analyzed a new Lazarus technique that hides malicious code in macOS Extended Attributes to evade detection, marking a tactic not yet included in MITRE ATT&CK. The company also supported INTERPOL and AFRIPOL’s Operation Serengeti, which led to the arrest of over a thousand cybercrime suspects across Africa, and contributed to Operation Synergia II, an INTERPOL initiative targeting phishing, malware distribution, and online fraud. These developments reflect increasingly sophisticated threats and growing global cooperation in cybercrime disruption.
