India is projected to lose nearly ₹20,000 crore to cybercrime in 2025, driven largely by fake domains and brand abuse. CloudSEK’s analysis, based on monitoring 200 companies, over 5,000 domain takedowns, and 16,000 brand abuse incidents, shows that brand abuse alone may account for around ₹9,000 crore. This economic impact reflects the rising scale and sophistication of fraudulent domains and impersonation campaigns. The findings highlight the urgent need for stronger digital risk monitoring, enforcement, and cybersecurity readiness across Indian businesses.
