The Milken Institute’s HealthTech in the Philippines report examines how digital health can address systemic challenges. Despite gains from the 2019 UHC Act, financing gaps, health worker shortages, geographic disparities, and political risks persist. Telemedicine, patient monitoring, EMRs, fintech, and health apps show promise, but adoption is slowed by fragmentation, poor infrastructure, and limited regulation. COVID-19 accelerated telehealth and innovation, yet HealthTech still lacks media visibility and cohesive policy support. Interviewees stress that talent and ideas, not funding, are the main bottlenecks. Moving forward, stronger regulation, better collaboration, and a unified HealthTech community are needed to scale solutions.
