TSA Security Directive Pipeline‑2021‑02C, effective July 27, 2022, replaces the previous version to better protect U.S. gas and liquid pipelines from malicious cyber threats that could impact national security, the economy, and public safety. It applies to owners and operators of TSA‑designated critical pipeline systems notified by July 26, 2022. Within the first 90 days, organizations must submit a Cybersecurity Implementation Plan outlining a defense‑in‑depth approach for meeting requirements and, once approved, implement and maintain the schedule. Until approval, interim measures must be followed.
