Machine identities now drive 2.2x identity growth and are often the riskiest, yet many still define privileged users as human-only. AI-powered phishing, malware, and compromised models are top concerns. Third- and fourth-party vendors increase exposure, but vendor risk management ranks lowest in investments. To mitigate threats, firms prioritize ITDR, phishing-resistant MFA, automated session isolation, and Zero Standing Privileges.
