Azul’s high‑performance Java platform consistently outperforms OpenJDK in benchmark tests. Zing JDK 21 showed a 36% faster open speed in January 2024 and remained 12% faster afterward. Earlier tests from January 2022 showed Zing JDK 17 running 26% faster at open and 7% faster after warmup compared to the OpenJDK 11.0.6 baseline. Over time, OpenJDK improvements slowed, with OpenJDK 17 gaining only minimal speed increases, while Zing maintained strong performance gains. This demonstrates that Azul’s platform opens faster, stays faster, and delivers sustained performance advantages over standard OpenJDK.
