The pulse survey (300 API security decision makers, Aug 13 to Oct 31, 2022) finds APIs are central to revenue growth, with 79% expecting revenue dependency on APIs to increase in the next 12 months and data sharing across partner ecosystems cited as the top driver (66%). Third-party and partner-facing APIs are seen as key value drivers, while SOAP and REST lead the technologies most tied to business value. Security pressure is high: 58% report more than three API attacks per month and priorities center on authentication enforcement, content inspection, and DDoS. Most organizations rely on WAFs and API gateways, yet tool fragmentation slows response, and nearly half say better integration across API security tools would most improve transparency.
