The 2022 Thales Access Management Index (APAC Edition) highlights regional trends in building Zero Trust through modern access security. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adoption reached 56%, slightly up from 52% in 2021, though 70% of respondents emphasized maintaining control over access security. Thirty-three percent reported over 40% of employees using strong authentication for cloud and SaaS applications, up from 14% the previous year. VPNs remain dominant for remote access at 59%, while 43% of firms plan to enhance VPNs with new technology. Top challenges include ease of deployment, cost, and integration. Over half of APAC firms prefer agnostic third-party solutions for multi-cloud security.
