2021 Thales Data Threat Report - U.S. Federal Edition
The 2021 Thales Data Threat Report for the U.S. Federal sector reveals that 83% of respondents are concerned about remote work security, yet only 15% feel very prepared for pandemic-related risks. Multicloud adoption is rising, with 55% storing over 40% of data in public clouds, though 83% said most sensitive cloud data is unencrypted. Nearly half experienced increased ransomware and phishing attacks, and 47% saw more cyber incidents. Quantum threats concern 47% of respondents. Zero Trust adoption is accelerating, with 31% having formal strategies and 75% integrating its principles into cloud security practices.
