The 2021 Thales Cloud Security Study for Europe shows that 58% of organizations use multiple IaaS providers, while 45% find managing privacy and data protection in the cloud more complex than on-premises. Despite rising adoption, 83% encrypt less than half of their cloud data, and 59% rely on providers to manage encryption keys. Breaches remain common, with 43% reporting incidents. Leading security measures include encryption, key management, and MFA, yet only 16% use MFA for most cloud services. With 67% finding hybrid security challenging, Zero Trust approaches are becoming increasingly important.
